Ray Poynter passed away this last week, and as one of the very first Dubai Divots, we will be honouring him at next weekends Divots event at AlZorah.
Ray's son-in-law, and a founding member of the Divots, Paul Miles, has arranged to be the main sponsor ( Light Touch ) for AlZorah 21st January.
Dubai Divots send our deepest condolences to Paul and his family at this sad time...
Paul noted that Ray was one of the few to keep, with pride, all of the Divots shirts, and he even went on to start the Maidenhead Divots in the UK.. which is still going strong....
Ray loved his golf, and I am sure many of us who have also played since the start of the Divots here in Dubai, will remember his endearing smile and personality..." the very first time I met him, he welcomed me as if he had known me for years..". fond memories indeed....AB
So lets have a great game on the 21st in his honour, and a tipple or two both during and after the game, and just as I am sure he would have loved us to do...
