On the 21st May, 2026, the committee held our AGM over a few pints of Guinness...

The following amendments to our constitution were made:

From May 30th 2026, we are introducing a 20aed cash donation for your prize fund... this will be collected at every event, so please bring this cash with you...  it is only 20aed because we have always had generous sponsors and we will continue with that, so if you would like to sponsor an event or just a novelty hole.. please let us know... and then you can advertise your company or service on the day... at  the end of each season or year, any surplus will be used for prizes and possibly beverages.. we are not and never will be a business.. we are a society only and funding our prizes through members donations.

To become a member you are obliged to purchase a shirt, and we will be introducing new shirts for the next season.

Kate Hudson was nominated and unanimously elected as the Dubai Divots Lady Captain... and she has accepted ... which is great news, and so we hope she will help to bolster our ladies numbers...

Something also completely new, is the introduction of a 100aed fee for anyone requesting to play with their mates...  To continually re-listing a playlist is not an easy thing to do.. so from now on you will be contributing to the prize fund for the request..

Fines...  in fairness this was discussed and is under review.. but we thought that the above is enough for now ..

As Co-Chairman, it falls to me to say a huge thanks to our Captain and Vice captain... Aaron Birch and Dan Martindale who have between them done an absolute amazing job over recent weeks in booking well in advance our events and at the same time lifting the Divots to new heights ...  Amazing work...  Thank you Guys...   and of course from now on you will also have the assistance of our superb new Ladies Captain, Kate...

Finally, let me say again that the Dubai Divots have been famous for having the support of dozens of sponsors over the years, but given the current business challenges in our region, we would like to extend not only our gratitude to all who have supported us to date, since 2010.. but we ask for anyone to please come forward to support the members of our amazing society.. its all about prizes, and and shirt sponsorship...  times are different, but the spirit of the Dubai Divots moves on and just as our founders intended it to be.
